On a chilly Saturday in January, my mom and I set out with the kids with one goal in mind. To find something new to see that was not too far from home. So, where did we land? Approximately one hour outside Indianapolis, just off the Ohio State line at the giant candle on N Centerville Rd.
What did we find? A whole lot more than candles!
Upon pulling up to the Warm Glow Candle Company Outlet, we were met with an equal mix of “We drove all this way for a candle store?” and “but do they have snacks?” Yet, upon entering the store, it seems that my kids were able to find everything but the famous Warm Glow hearth candles initially. But without further ado, here were the top five things my kiddos were excited to see:
We All Scream for Ice Cream
For my youngest, the most important thing we found at the Warm Glow Candle Outlet was the ice cream. While their selection was not that of our local ice cream shop, their assortment of hand-dipped flavors (I want to say there were eight in total) and choice of a dish or waffle cone was more than impressive in her book. According to Ellie, her cotton candy ice cream was “the bestest” and put a smile on her face!
Goodies from the Stone Hearth Café
For my two older children, who were not as thrilled with the prospect of ice cream in July, the Stone Hearth Cafe was an excellent place for them to grab a slice of cheesecake! While homemade cakes, turnovers, and some savory food options were on the table, Brendan and Addi found themselves caught up in the cheesecake call and were not disappointed with their choice.
Out of this World Outdoor Home Décor
While the Warm Glow Candle Outlet boosted some fantastic decor for your living room, their selection of outdoor home decor was what had my kids most fascinated! From giant metal dinosaurs to Christmas yard decor, they had a little bit of everything available for purchase to dress up your home! A crowd favorite with my group? The giant metal dog is probably awaiting great customers just outside the front door!
Bath Bombs, Boutique Items, and Signs, Oh My!
A happy surprise that moved the Warm Glow Candle Outlet to the list of worthy destinations in Indiana for my kids was the assortment of little shops inside the store! From bath bombs and soaps to children’s toys, games, and more, there is a little something for everyone in this part of the store. My children were each able to find several things that interested them, keeping them occupied while I finished my shopping. Win, win? I think so!
Candles, Candles, and More Candles
Ok, so while they were expecting to see candles during our Warm Glow Candle Outlet with kids outing, the number of candles my children found was actually exciting! From floral scents like rose hips to popular baking scents, my kids loved smelling all the different candles around the store before helping me pick out some to take home!

While I initially had concerns about how much they would enjoy a candle store trip, all three kids seemed to love this little outing. It may not be on our once-a-month list of places to visit, but this Indiana roadside attraction will be somewhere we will see again.
